About Me
I have three passions in life! Photography and the great outdoors, my family and fixing broken things.
I have been an Engineer for over forty years, travelling the length and breadth of Scotland and its Islands. My camera usually accompanies me on my travels, though I don't always get the time to linger. So, places that peak my interest invariably get many return visits in quieter times. Times, now that i am semi-retired i find i have more of. I also enjoy many activities with my family in the great outdoors. Wild camps with my son and son-in-law. Horses with my daughter and everything they entail.
Having being an avid Amateur Photographer for most of my life, my camera is never far from my side, ready for those opportunistic shots. With varying degrees of success.
I am also blessed with the good fortune of living in rural Perthshire, with an abundance of natural wonders on my doorstep and, having a hyperactive Yellow Labrador who doesn't encourage a sedentary lifestyle.
Nature, and all its many wonders, never ceases to surprise me. it's also a place, where I can be so lost in it, that I can simply, "Be." It's a place i can clean the cobwebs out of my head, sometimes find an answer to a problem, or have a moment of self appraisal, or just simply a moment where i sort out those things that really matter. Or, do nothing more profound, than simply enjoy it.
I don't really have a category that i could say in specialise in. No, I have more of a 'Kid in a sweetshop' mentality, everywhere i turn i have those 'Oooh Bubbles' moments. (some may get the finding nemo reference), some wont. (Why do i feel they are missing out on something special?)
I can't think of a better way to show my gratitude for my good fortune though, than to share a little of it!
Welcome to my little piece of this remarkable world.
William
P.S. i am also one of those people who refuses to adopt the more popular American spelling preferences in most editing softwares and i refuse to substitute 'Z' for 'S' in specialise..... i can live with the wavy line under my text. You will never break me Windows!
